GDPR

Dear Parents and Carers

Changes to Data Protection Law

From 25th May 2018, the rules regarding data protection are changing.  The Data Protection Act 1998 will be replaced by the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).  The change in the law is intended to strengthen your rights over how organisations use your personal data.  This is to ensure that sensitive or private information remains safe.

Whilst the new GDPR is similar to the current Data Protection Act 1998, there are a few differences.  Therefore we need to make some changes at school to ensure we remain complaint with the new legislation.

As part of our work in complying with the new GDPR, we need to advise you of how we use, store and share data in our Privacy Notice.  You can read our Privacy Notice by clicking here.  A hard copy can also be requested, free of charge, from the School office.

We also need to re-seek your consent for the use of photographs in schools.  A new consent form has been sent home from school today for you to complete and return to school by 24th May 2018.

If you have any questions about the new Photograph Consent Form or how the GDPR affects you or your child, or you wish to find out about how our School is preparing for the new law, please contact the School.

With kind regards
