Welcome to our home learning area. In the event that your child has a period of absence from school or your child's bubble at school is closed for a period of time, we will be uploading various different activities, resources and learning ideas to this page on the website. We are sorry you cannot be with us but we hope you enjoy your learning from home and we will interact with you via video and email as much as we can. We can't wait to have you back again soon, happy home learning!
Here is an example of how your day can look from home:
If you scroll down to the bottom of this page there are a huge range of links to websites of resources you can use for your child. Through lockdown periods all of these websites offer free log ins!
Week 5 Home Learning
Well done to all the children for working so hard over these past weeks, we are so proud of you! Also a big thank you to all of the parents for supporting your children and helping them with their home learning, we couldn't do it without you!
Week 5 is our final week of our topic, 'Once Upon A Time' and after this we will be learning about Chinese New Year and on the last day of term learn all about Valentines Day.
From this point onwards all of our online lessons will be found on your child's Class Dojo account. An email has been sent to you giving your more information on this and in your week 5 home learning packs are your child's individual log in codes. These can be collected from Friday 29th January and will be outside the office.
Please from this point onwards find the links to the Sway pages for each day of learning on your Class Dojo class story. Every morning the class teachers will also upload a film for the register, date and example timetable of the day. This is our way to say hello to the children every day and explain to them the lessons and activities of the day. Below is the link for the Class Dojo website:
Every Wednesday afternoon we will be holding live Teams sessions with the children, on Tuesday's you will receive information via email from your class teacher telling you your allocated time slot and what to bring if necessary. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email us. Thank you everyone.
Week 4 Home Learning
Hello everyone, welcome to week 4! We hope you are all well. Below are the Plan, Learn, Review challenges for this week:
Alongside this we have also attached information of the expectation of writing for children in Reception. We want to make you aware that the children do not need to spell every word correctly instead they should use their phonetic knowledge learnt from Phonics to spell and write words. Despite this, we do encourage the children to learn their tricky words as these words cannot be sounded out through phonetic decoding. We have also attached tricky word mats for you to download for your child to use to support their writing. If the children are spelling the words correctly that's fine as well as some children learn words from sight, but it is also very important that the children do have the skills to segment and blend words through their phonetic knowledge. We hope this helps with any of your concerns but please do feel free to contact your class teacher for more help or guidance if needed.
Don't forget to hold your pencil properly, we know how tricky it is but keep practising! Well done everyone.
