Our class is named after the inventor of the telephone Alexander Graham Bell. We have already started to learn about the amazing things that he did.
Our team is made up of Mrs Bates and Mrs Ismail. Mrs Bates teaches Bell class from Monday to Wednesday morning and Mrs Ismail teaches Thursday and Friday. Year 2 PPA time is on a Wednesday afternoon.

Our topic this term is 'Day and Night' we will be learning about nocturnal animals and minibeasts. Our PE sessions are on Monday afternoons and Thursday mornings, please ensure that your child's PE kit is in school at all times as outdoor sessions may change due to weather conditions. Long hair must be tied up on PE days and we also advise that earrings are taken out at home.
In Science this term we are completing our 'plants' topic and will be starting to learn about 'Animals' Our Horton Kirby visit in term 6 will link together our science and topic learning.
We are continuing to learn about Judaism this term in RE.
The class take part in daily spelling and handwriting sessions as a whole class. We will also start Guided Reading sessions weekly once we have listened to all the children read individually. We complete the 'Big Maths' challenge every Friday.

During multicultural week we learnt all about China. We made Chinese dragons and used them to perform a dragon dance.
We used tissue paper and glue to create beautiful Chinese blossom pictures.
We had fun creating artwork inspired by Chinese watercolour flower paintings.
This term we made bread. We use ingredients and a small plastic bag to mix and knead the bread before shaping it ready to go into the oven.
1. Mixing and kneading the ingredients to make a dough.
2. Shaping the dough into a bun, ready for the oven.
3. Freshly baked.
4. Ready to be taken home :)
