Lovely start to the school year! - R, Yr1 & 2

It has been a lovely start to the school year.

The Year 1 and 2 children have settled into their new classes and teachers quickly. The staff have worked hard to create a start to school which focuses on the children’s wellbeing and happiness. The children are coming into school with the biggest smiles and it has been wonderful to walk down the corridor and hear their happy voices.

The Year 1 children are currently enjoying learning about Dinosaurs and they are using their Maths and English skills to measure bones and label the features of these prehistoric creatures. In Year 2 the children’s topic is ‘Marvellous Me’ and the children are beginning to read the Michael Bond story ‘Paddington Bear’. The staff have worked hard to make sure lots of the children’s learning takes place outside and the children are enjoying having their lunch in the class

The Year R children have started their transition into school and all the staff are enjoying getting to know them. The children have enjoyed learning outside, especially challenging themselves on the climbing frame, building in the construction area and being creative with the paint.
